I might be a peanut...

Another valentine.  Funny story behind this valentine, I had been doing the 14 days of valentine's for my kids this year.  Each day they woke up with some sort of treat and a "Punny" saying that went a long with it.  One day after my five year old woke up and I read the saying to him he came up with his own.  "I might be a peanut, but I would risk my life to save my friends!", and then he would laugh hysterically.  I never really got the pun, but oh well, he repeated it daily!

I decided that would be the perfect sentiment for his valentine this year and this SVG fit perfectly.

The background is from an embossing folder called tiny hearts 

from The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby).

The twine is made by Maya Road and is also found at Hobby Lobby

Father's Day Cards

These cards were created on my Silhouette Cameo and are from the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons graphics store.  

The level was for my dad.  I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder diamond for the background.  I don't know about you but the sentiments are always the hardest for me.  That is why I was glad the stud finder came with the sentiment.  My husband got a kick out of it.  He opened the card and started beeping "Beep, Beep, Beep...oh, it's me...I'm a Stud!"  I used a Peachy Keen Everyday Character Face stamp for the stud finder window!  My black gel pen has walked away from my crafting station (I am blaming my children...whether they are guilty or not! :) Sounds fair right?!?) and I had to use a different  brand of gel pen...not a big fan.  Sounds like I need to make a trip to the closest craft store <insert evil laugh here>!  

Happy Sweet Sixteen

Her party this year is zebra with hot pink accents so I thought 

I would make a card along the same lines!!!

The zebra is from the Cricut Cartridge Create a Critter.  I used my Xyron and ran the zebra through upside down, attached the white and then flocked the rest of the black!  I love fuzzy zebras! :)  The embossing on the pink is from a Cuttlebug folder called Juli's Garden.  I attached some bling to the center of the flowers with my Imaginisce I-Rock.

Happy Birthday Sis!!!  Love you!!!

Love Roo Valentine

Made this adorable kangaroo valentine for my three year old!!!

This was a free SVG from Little Scraps of Heaven!!!  Isn't this little kangaroo adorable.  I cut it out on my Silhouette Cameo, inked it with my Stampin' up ink (Crumb Cake), embossed it with Paper Studio embossing folder (Tiny Hearts) on my Cuttlebug, added some twine and edging (Fiskars) and there you go!!!  All paper used is from Michaels Recollections (Red, Kraft, Black).

Valentine Bee Goodie Bag

I cut this cute little bee from the Cricut Create a Critter 2 Cartridge. The cute little bee was cut at 3' and I used Michael's Recollection Paper Packs Cape Cod and Pink Buttons.  I glittered up her antennae to spice it up a bit.  The embossing was done using my Cuttlebug and The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby) Embossing folder Tiny Hearts.  The sentiment is from My Pink Stampers Buggie Punnies set.

Birthday Owl

This card was created using the Create a Critter Cricut Cartridge.  The owl was cut at 5.5".  All the cardstock is from Stampin' Up and the color combo's are Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Pacific Point!  All edges were inked with coordinating ink.  The branch was cut from the Cricut Cartridge Hoot 'n Holler at 3.24",  I only used 3 of the 4 layers, and the colors used there are Early Espresso, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green.

The background is Daffodil Delight and was embossed using the Cuttlebug folder D'vine Swirl.  I then inked the embossing with a Daffodil Delight ink dauber.

The sentiment on the inside of the card is from the Pink By Design Set You're a Hoot!  I have attached a link where I bought mine, if you're interested!

The Big 4-0!!!

Well, it is official my hubby and I are getting old.  We just celebrated my husbands 40th birthday, CRAZY!!!  I created this card from the Cricut Life's A Party Cartridge.  The paper is Coordinations, I bought it in the open stock at JoAnn's.  I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Traffic Jam on the grey background and then added some silver stickles to spice it up a bit.  I don't know if vultures are suppose to be spicy or not??? :) And finally added some black twine!!!

I made a birthday basket for my hubby this year.  "The Big 40" was also off of the Life's a Party Cartridge.  I just used the fit to page feature on my Cricut Expression (I think it turned out to be 11 1/2") to cut out the phrase.  I ended up gluing it to a wooden shim (the only thing I could find at the moment) so it would stick out of the basket.  

SIDE NOTE:  My two year old decided that he could be a big help during this project :/, so instead of taking his nap he was helping glue, tape and cut just about anything he could get his hands on and endlessly repeating "but, what about me???".  

So, in the end a wooden shim didn't sound so bad!!! :)  Anybody else have crafting days like these?

You Are My Super Hero!!!

Made this card for my hubby for our anniversary!!!  I got the idea from the Obsessed with Scrapbooking blog.  Since I didn't have the Cricut Superman Cartridge at the time, I just got online and looked for free superman graphics.

I used the print and cut feature on my Silhouette to cut out Superman.  The cut itself is a little ragged.  I tried to adjust the cut lines through the Silhouette Studio software, but that was WAY more than I was bargaining for and stopped.  The hubby didn't seem to notice :), or was to kind to mention it!!!

I embossed the blue background with the Cuttlebug diamond folder, and the yellow burst in the background is from the Cricut Best of Pixar Cartridge!!!

Missing you a TON!!!

This cute elephant is from Treasure Box Designs.  Isn't it the cutest!!!  I wanted to enter the weekly color challenge at I came, I saw, I created so I used my Silhouette Design Studio to alter the colors a bit.  The ears of the elephant are Pink Pirouette, the body is Sahara Sand, and the peanut is Always Artichoke!!!  I also incorporated yellow, green and coral (orange) into my project so that it qualified for the Cameo Creations Challenge.  The tulip cuts are free SVG files from SVG Cuts, and the grass was a free SVG file from Little Scraps of Heaven.  I used Glossy Accents on the eyes to give them the shiny, wet look and the Cuttlebug Mosaic embossing folder on the peanut to add texture.

I was WAY excited to see that I could alter the colors on this SVG file, I just went to the fill screen and chose advanced options (at the bottom) and from there it let me enter my own RGB codes.  I printed it out on white textured card stock and then used my print and cut feature to cut out the shapes on my Silhouette. The white cloud at the top is from the Cricut Cartridge Paper Dolls for Everyday.

You Light Up My Life!!!

I made another goodie bag!  I love these because they are so quick to make and easy to drop off to a friend or family member.

I decided to enter my first challenge and used the color scheme off of the I came, I saw, I created blog, which is Pumpkin Pie, Pacific Point and Real Red.  I didn't have Pacific Point and Real Red on hand so I used my Cricut Imagine to create those colors.  I thought the blue turned out okay, but I wasn't thrilled with the red.  I cut the Real Red out using the stock shapes 1:2 at 5.7 and Pacific Point using stock shapes 5:7 at 2.9.  I did have to cut both of them down a little bit more. The sun was cut from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock at 3.35" on my Gypsy so that I could hide the face and use my cute Peachy Keen Basic Paper Doll  1 3/8" Stamp. The sun is found on the Cricut Creat a Critter cartridge, and is part of the Simply Crafts Challenge.  The embossing on the blue was the Sizzix folder stars and swirls.  I used my Sakura gel pens to add color and dimension to the stamp! Tada (as my two year old would say :)).

Goodie Bags!!!

Wanted to stop  by a few friends houses and let them know that I am thinking of them, so I made Goody Bags!!!

I got this cute idea from My Pink Stamper.  I bought my clear bags at Michael's, I believe they are 4 x 6, and you get 50 for $3 or $4, plus don't forget to use your 40% off coupon. :)

 I downloaded the cute bugs from kristidailey.com, they are the Bugs Color Graphics, and cut them out with the print and cut feature on my Silhouette.

 Last but not least I cut a piece of paper at 41/2 x 6, folded it in half, and stapled it to the top of my bag.  Then I cut another piece of paper at 4 1/4 x 2 3/4 ran it through my Cuttlebug using my Bloom Dot embossing folder, and glued it to the top of my base paper.  I then added my graphics with Pop dots and added a saying as well!

Just Keep Swimming!!!

I made this card for a friend that is enduring chemotherapy for breast cancer.  A member of our church gave a talk to our congregation a while ago that has always stuck with me.  She talked about how sometimes when we are in thick of trials in our lives the only thing we can do is...just keep swimming!

This card was made using the Cricut Cartridge Best of Pixar.  I was inspired by two blogs I follow, Glora's Crafts and Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons.  Glora's blog helped me to add dimension to my Nemo with my Sakura Pens, and Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons helped me to create the background.  I also used my Cuttlebug to emboss the blue paper using the Sizzix embossing folder Bubbles.  I used Glossy Accents to make some of my bubbles appear water like, and foam adhesive squares to give Nemo a 3D effect.

Cancer Stinks!!!

I made this for a friend of mine who has been diagnosed with breast cancer.  She is a beautiful woman with two darling one year old twins.  She has just started her chemo treatments and I wanted to let her know that I am thinking of her.

The paper used here is from the Core'dinations Roy G. Biv Super Assortment.  I embossed the purple paper with the cuttlebug using a butterfly folder from the Once Upon a Princess pack.  The "Stinkin' Cute" skunk is from Cricut Create a Critter Cartridge.  I colored in the eyes, ears and mouth with a Sakura black glaze gel pen (an idea I picked up from Edna), and added the highlights to the eyes and nose with a Sakura white gel pen.  I filled in the gray areas with crystal stickles and used ribbon from Michael's.  Hope you like it!

Birthday Cupcakes

I made my daughter humor me for her birthday and made cupcakes.  She is not a big fan of cupcakes or cake for that matter, but I had found a recipe on Pinterest and wanted to try it out.  Here is a link to the recipe for the cupcakes and the icing.  And of course if we are going to have cupcakes we HAVE to have toppers too!!!  All of these animals are from the Create a Critter Cricut cartridge.

 I used my Xyron to put the glitter on the little birdie's wings.  I just turn the paper right side down and run it through the Xyron.  Then sprinkle with glitter and gently knock of extra glitter.  I used Core'dinations Botanical paper pack from Joann's for this project.

 Here are all of my little beauties!!!

I cut the hippo at 3" and used my Gypsy and the hide contour feature so that the eyes would not cut out and I could use my Peachy Keen Critter Faces XL stamps for the eyes.  I also used my Sakura white gel pen for the eyes and Sakura Black glaze pen for the eyes and mouth.  I ran the the top layers of the Hippo through my Cuttlebug with the Divine Swirl folder.  Just a heads up...make sure you stamp and color in the eyes BEFORE you emboss..most of you are probably thinking well, no duh...I am a slow learner sometimes :).  I used Core'dinations The Prince paper pack for this project.

And the hedgehog, my favorite.  I cut the hedgehog at 1"and used my gypsy and the hide contours feature to hide the face so that it didn't cut out and used my Peachy Keen Critter Faces XL to stamp the faces.  I used my gel pens to give the eyes more definition and inked around the edges of the hedgehogs's body.  The cute bling was added with my Imaginisce I-Rock Tool.  I used the core'dinations Cafe paper pack from Joann's.  I love the paper packs because I don't have to spend my time matching and coordinating the papers it is already done.

The cupcake wrappers are from the Life's a Party Cricut cartridge I used my gypsy again to alter the design (we didn't want anything too fancy) and it took a little trial and error to get them the right size.  I ended up cutting them at 1.75"

I made this card for a neighbor that I wanted to thank for her yummy homemade bread and jam.

This image is from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge.  I modified it on my Gypsy using the hide contour feature so that I could use my Peachy Keen Stamps (Critter Faces XL) for the eyes.  I also used black flocking on the ears and spots to give it a little more texture.  The grass at the bottom of the card is from the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge as well and is cut from core'dinations card stock.  The rest of the card was made from DCVW card stock.  The embossing was done with my Cuttlebug and Bloom Dot folder.

I made this card for my niece, who participates on her high school drill team.  They were going to their regional championships and I wanted to let her know that we were supporting her!!!  

As you can tell most of my cards are 6x6.  I don't know why, other than I just like them that way!  I used the Cricut Lite Cartridge for the postage stamp background and the Create a Critter Cartridge for the horseshoe.  I embossed the horseshoe using the Cuttlebug and the Diamond folder.  The cute Ballet Shoes are from the SVG Cuts website (and they were FREE!!!).  I used crystal stickles on the ballet shoes but wished afterwords that I would have just used my xyron and glitter (stickles take a while to dry...and of course I waited until the last minute and was in a hurry). And speaking of wishing I had done something different...I wish I would have made another pink backing for my ballet shoe on the left.  I used a Sakura Gelly Roll Pen in navy to do the stitching.
